Rep: Install traffic lights
It would be dangerous for pedestrians to cross Jalan C. Y. Choy when the new road connecting it to the Jelutong Expressway opens, Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Lee Hack Teik said.
He said this was because there would then be heavier traffic flow from the ex-pressway.
“The residents association had in June last year requested that pedestrian traffic lights be installed.
“That area alone has a population of some 3,000-odd residents and the majority of the pedestrians are senior citizens and school children,” he said.
Lee said the new road was expected to be completed by the end of this year.
He suggested that Jalan Magazine be widened to accommodate the heavier flow of traffic when the new road opens.
Lee also asked that pedestrian traffic lights
be installed at the Jelutong Expressway near Jalan Ghat Lebuh Prangin.
